FUN-GUS FACTS: Did You Know…?
Welcome to this month’s Fungus Gnat Files! It’s time to get up close and personal with one of the plant world’s tiniest troublemakers.

Did you know…

  • Adult fungus gnats only live 7–10 days, but with overlapping generations, they can feel like forever roommates—especially indoors.
  • In greenhouses, large populations can lead to root rot and stunted growth, especially for delicate seedlings and cuttings.
  • These tiny pests are actually cousins of mosquitoes and houseflies — yep, they all hang out in the same bug family reunion: Order Diptera.

See newsletter for helpful tips, and a few surprises to help you stay one step ahead of these gnarly gnats!
