Guardian for Orchards

Description

Guardian for Orchards is a biological control solution targeting soil-dwelling stages of common orchard pests, including codling moth, plum curculio, western cherry fruit fly, apple maggot, peachtree borer, and pecan weevil. These pests spend part of their life cycle as larvae in the soil, where they are most vulnerable to nematodes.

Timing of application is critical for effective control. Most pests require spring and fall applications when larvae enter the soil, except for pecan weevil, which requires one fall application. Visual indicators of pest activity include:

• Fruit drop with entry holes – codling moth, western cherry fruit fly, apple maggot
• Crescent-shaped scars – plum curculio
• Gummy exudate with frass at tree base – peachtree borer
• Fallen nuts with exit holes – pecan weevil
